Description Summary Sharp Mesa Vista (SMV) provides comprehensive clinical programming on all SMV inpatient units, seven days per week. Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, the weekend Behavioral Health Therapist (BHT) will provide assessment and behavioral/cognitive-behavioral treatment on Saturday and Sunday AND will work 4 to 6 hours on either Friday or Monday to ensure continuity with weekday programming and communication with weekday staff. This BHT position is for the Child and Adolescent inpatient unit and the two adult locked units (psychiatric ICU and South Rotunda). This is part-time, benefitted position. The employee will work a minimum of 20 hours per week and will have the option of cross training on other inpatient units, outpatient programs, intake, research, etc., with the potential to pick up additional hours (totaling no more than 40 hours per week) in areas where they have cross-trained (depending on staffing needs in those other units/programs/departments). BHT’s will be psychological assistants under supervision of one or more of SMV’s licensed psychologists. BHTs who have already completed predoctoral internship hours may accrue postdoctoral hours toward licensure. Once licensure is obtained BHT’s will have the option of staying in their current position or applying for any Clinical Psychologist positions that may become available. Because we have an APA accredited doctoral internship at SMV/SMC. BHT's MAY NOT use hours worked here to meet predoctoral SPE requirements .
