Scientist Intern - Human Effectiveness

Employment Type

: Full-Time

: Miscellaneous

At Charles River Analytics, our interns work on real projects and cutting-edge technology. We believe strongly in promoting within, which is demonstrated by the fact that we not only have hired former interns, but that several of our Senior Scientists and one of our division Vice Presidents began their careers at Charles River as interns!

This summer, we are looking for enthusiastic, research-oriented Scientist Interns for our Human Effectiveness division. As a scientist, you will collaborate with your team to understand the problem, research approaches, design solutions, and evaluate the results. We are seeking students with an interest in learning about how to build human-centered intelligent systems and a successful academic background in the following areas: human performance, software engineering, computer science, cognitive engineering, artificial intelligence, or applied mathematics.

You will use a variety of technologies such as web-based development, game development and algorithms. During your time at Chares River, you will work in small project-oriented groups of scientists and software engineers to address challenging problems related to intelligent decision-support tools. As an example of the type of work you would do, one of our former Human Effectiveness interns built a missile defense training game with Unity and C#, which allowed him to use algorithms and data structures to program the simulations while also learning about visual design and animations to apply to the user interface.
